Dance shows have been entertaining people for decades. Four shows stand out in this year’s presentations of the excitement and glamour of dancing.

Dancing with the Stars features celebrities selected for this competition elimination. Music and style changes, adding pressure on each celebrity and the professional ballroom dancers that they are matched with. 2013 marks its 16th season. DWTS airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. Eastern Time on ABC.

So You Think You Can Dance spotlights skilled dancers and rigorous techniques. Ballroom and contemporary dancing are just two styles that might be thrown at competitors in any certain show. Dancers can see the reaction of the audience and judges to various moves and music selections. 2013 sees the 10th season begin on Tuesday, May 14 at 8 p.m. on Fox.

Now in its third season, the Disney Channel’s Shake It Up is a dance show for the younger generation. The show offers a plot along with dance routines that can break out at any time. In true Disney Channel fashion, several episodes are played at different times during the week. True fans know them all.

Also known as ABDC, America’s Best Dance Crew features hip hop dancing, where participants compete in crews. Music from different rappers and singers change weekly. After seven seasons of production, it was announced in November 2012 that the MTV reality series had been cancelled.
